After waking up at 6:50am this morning ( after sleeping at 4am!), I had to get up and out of my cozy bed and prepare myself for a long day of getting CPR certified.
The certification class is required for pharmacy students and it started from 8am until 2pm. We got to learn and practice on the adult and infant 'Manikin'.

| Using the C-E method of holding the pump |
We went over 1-Rescuer on Adult/Infant, 1-2 Rescuer on adult using the ADE, and 1-2 Rescuer on infant.
There were techniques I learned like:
the Head-Tilt,
For adults: 2 Breaths-30 Compression cycle, 5 Cycles throughout.
For infants: 2 Breaths-30, (15 if there are 2 rescues).
Requirement of at least 100 Compressions per minute.
Compression on the center between the nipples on the breastbone.
anddd...it's okay if you hear ribs crack. That means your doing it right!
Being a female, me and my friends were worried about CPR on a female because one of the rules is you have to clear clothing out of the way in order to do compressions easily as well as the ADE if needed. What we learned is modesty goes out the door when your trying to save someone's life so let's hope I don't pass out in order for someone to give me CPR.

The instructors were really knowledgeable and I loved how they had their own stories to tell that related to the class. They showed videos as a tutorial and even though I was chuckling at how ridiculous the acting was, in the end you are learning to save someone's life.
The one that scared me the most was having a child or infant that you have to give CPR. Their heads are so tiny and it was very hard to use those air pumps on the infant's mouth because the face mask is so big.
I am really glad I took this course because if a scenario like a choking or unresponsive individual comes my way, I would know what to do-especially if it involved an infant.
In the end- I passed the exam and got certified!
